In the story, catering cabinets shared a circuit with the stage. When the breaker tripped, the wall and the host's monitor went black, but the show machine sat on a UPS and held its place in the running order. When power returned, the wall picked up on the same card. Moving catering to its own circuit stopped it happening again.
